A Tribute to our Firefighters

This past week California had a devastating brush fire throughout areas of the Angeles National Forest. In fact the area is still burning. Hundreds of Firemen from all over Los Angeles County and surrounding cities are fighting to save peoples homes, wild life and historical places.

While fighting this fire known as the, Station Fire, Los Angeles County lost two of their own Firefighters, Captain Ted Hall and Firefighter Specialist Arnaldo "Arnie" Quinones. Though I did not know these men personally, I do have family on the Fire Department. My brother in-law, Captain Thomas Stukey of the Los Angeles County Fire Deptartment, was also on the front line and knew both Ted and Arnie.

In Honor of Ted and Arnie and the many other firefighters that put their lives on line everyday, I have decided to do a "Firefighter Feature". I have strolled through Etsy and have chosen some great handmade Firefighter products.

Thank you to all the Etsy sellers who have allowed me to feature them. In photo order - Creative Clam, Charms 4 You, Homespun Graphics, Revelry, The HomeSpun Raven, Karens Soaps, UsNavyretiredvet, Art by Beckieann

  2. So sorry to hear about all the devastation out there. What a terrible loss for the fellow firefighters and their families. Their bravery is unfathomable.

I'm honored to be part of your firefighting collection. Thanks so much for adding my invitations. :)

  3. One of the fireman lost, who's wife is expecting their first child in a couple of weeks, was from the town I live in. Sadly, I didn't know him. These brave men and women put their lives on the line every day for us and our possessions. I can't even imagine the courage it takes to do this. They are definitely heroes of the highest order. Thank you for including my fireman sticker in your collection. Sherry H.

  4. That's a very nice tribute. I was up in Santa Cruz 3 weeks ago when that fire started and then down in LA area last week. The smoke, the ash, the terrible loss...but seeing all those firemen walking the streets after a hard day's/night's work was very comforting. Gotta love a fireman.

  5. I am the child of a firefighter, from a small city in MA, who was injured in a fire in 1958 and could not continue his career due to coronary problems. When he died in 1985, there were many at his funeral who approached my Mom and told her how he saved their lives. I wasn't there at the time (in AZ), but the very thought comforts me to this day.

  6. Having almost lost my home twice in fires in so cal in 2003 and again last year, I pray for everyone whose home is threatened or lost. The thought of a force of nature destroying everything you have is truly the most frightening thing you can experience. My heart goes out to the families, the firefighters and the firefighter's families
