Let's ring in the New Year with a Cherry blossom Giveaway!
What's New for 2011
Now that Christmas is over, it's time to clean up the shop and get ready for the new year! For starters, on January 9, 2011, I will be celebrating Hapa Girls - 2 year anniversary on Etsy!!!! Last year I gave away a cherry blossom charm. This year, I will be giving away a pair of copper cherry blossom post earrings! Check back on January 1st for the entry rules of my "2 year anniversary Giveaway."
Valentines Day
Last year I did a series of heart pendants with matching keys. I also did a few broken hearts that had a bitter sweet meaning to me. Because I do create a lot of my pieces from my own life's experiences, I am not sure which directions my hearts will be going. However, I do know there will always be some "Happy" hearts in my shop. This year, I hope to have many of my heart items "ready made" in time for Valentines Day.

My first crazy Christmas
Hapa Girls has been on Etsy and other Handmade market places for almost 2 years now. It has taken a lot of promoting, word of mouth referrals and re-listing of my items to finally get my crafty business going.
Today, I am gratefully swamped with orders for Christmas. Although I am a mom first to my very busy 3 year old, I am excited with the rush of orders. After all, Christmas only comes once a year.

Where does your inspiration come from?
I find everything in nature very inspiring, especially when it comes to replicating it in metal. This new Maple Leaf Cuff is my latest creation. This cuff shown here has an oxidized-polished finish. However, I hope to make one that resembles a vibrant maple leaf with a red-orange heat patina finish.
I hope to experiment with many more flowers and foliage in the coming year.

Christmas is on the way!
November was a crazy month for Hapa Girls! I appreciate all the new customers and my returning customers.
Now that Thanksgiving has past and the Christmas decorations are up, I am slowly adding new items to my Etsy, Zibbet, Bonanza and Craft is Art shops. Stop by and do some window shopping!!
This past month I have also been helping my sister start up her own Etsy shop, Urban Corner. Currently she has about 7 items listed and more on the way! Urban Corner specializes in handmade Leather Wrap bracelets. I am quite fond of a few of her designs and am hoping she will be surprising me with one for Christmas!!
Stop by Urban Corner and show her some handmade love with a "Heart"

Is Summer officially over?
I can't believe Summer is just about over. Of course maybe not totally here in Southern California. However, school has started for some kids and the holidays are just around the corner! I am in the process of making a few Halloween pieces that will be added to both my Etsy and 1000 Markets shops in late September or early October.
New Custom Orders Completed
It is always a treat when I can work with a custom on something they want to turn into a wearable piece of jewelry.
This is another custom request - 6 Cherry Blossom Charms with open jump rings! Doesn't the color remind you of Fall?
I want to say, Thank you to all my new customers and returning customers! August was a great month!

Raccoon Ring
This cute little Raccoon ring is a custom order I just finished. My customer drew this and sent it to me to turn into a ring. I think it came out great!
New for September
Seeing that school just started for some kids ( not my 3 year old), I will be taking a vacation in the middle of the month!! I will be leaving my shop open for that week so if you stop by, please read the shop announcement.

What's new for August? A Birthday Giveaway? Yes!!!!
August is a great month! My daughter will be turning 3 and like last year I will be creating something special to give away in my Etsy shop! Last year, I gave away a cupcake charm with any order of 3 or more silver bangles! Keep checking back for details.
Recently I have added a new, one of a kind pendant and ring to my shop. I love making new flowers! This one is sterling silver with gold granules. It looks gorgeous in person. In fact my mom has her eye on it!

Goodbye June - Hello July!
June was a very busy busy month for me! I appreciate all the new hearts in my Etsy shop as well as the orders that followed!
My family and I were able to take a mini vacation to the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas! My daughter had a great time taking her first train ride on the Grand Canyon Railway. We all had a great time and it was a much needed vacation. We hope to be taking another one in August and this time my husband and I will go rock hunting!
New in the shop this month
Lately I have been obsessed with making different types of flowers from copper. I hope to be creating more flowers and adding new one of a kind pendants and bracelets to my shop. Hapa Girls is becoming a "Copper Garden".
Let's promote one another!
I have joined a new group on Etsy called, " Bringing Unselfishness Your Way". I found them in the Etsy forums. Go check them out and get your name added to the list of shops.
As always, I would like to thank all my followers on my blog, twitter and Facebook fans. Also, a Big THANK YOU to all me customers an returning customers!

New In shops!
Well it has been a while since I last updated my blog! I have been extremely busy. I think that's a good thing!!
I have recently added my Hapa Girls Shop to another Handmade Market place, Craft Is Art. It's a great looking Market Place with an Etsy importer. So far I have not had any sales but I will give it a try for 6 months as a basic member which is FREE.

New Hibiscus Pendant
Well I have decided to make the Hibiscus a pendant!! I gave it a red heat patina and have listed it in my Etsy Shop. This is only the first of many I will be making. I would still like to make hair pins, hat pins and rings. I will also be making them on a larger scale!

Are I Spy Bags just for children?
I would have to say NO! I bought this I spy Bag from 1PixiePlace on Etsy for my daughter and found myself searching for the items before she could!! Being a fan of Word Search Puzzles and Look and Find books I thought this would be right up my alley. I mean my daughters alley! Besides being fun, I Spy Bags are great for keeping your child busy on road trips, dining out, Dr. Visits, and when you may need to make a few phone calls!! You Moms know what I mean!! They can also be educational.
I think there are unlimited possibilities for I Spy Bags (party favors, party games etc.) Visit 1PixiePlace today for an I Spy Bag for your child or yourself!!

I am so excited to have had my Double Cherry Blossom Ring Featured on the front page of Etsy!!! I may be making a bigger deal out of this than I should but as all you Etsy sellers know, it takes a long time to be found. I am going to enjoy this as long as possible!
To add to the enjoyment, I received 4 orders for this ring!

Cherry Blossom Festival of Southern California
This weekend is the Cherry Blossom Festival of Southern California. Located in Little Tokyo near Downtown LA. It should be a great weekend of crafts, entertainment, food and of course sales! I have been very busy making rings, earrings, bracelets and pendants for this 2-day festival. I have even made a new style of cherry blossom that will be for sale this weekend. The new design has rounded petals and has a fun feel. I will be adding it to my shops this week. Here is a sneak peek!
Have a great weekend and stop by the Cherry Blossom Festival if you live in the Los Angeles area.

Should I make this a ring or a pendant?
I just finished forming this beautiful hibiscus flower and can not decide on whether to make it a ring, pendant, hat pin or hair pin. Maybe I should put it to a vote!! Either way, I will be listing this beauty in my Etsy shop and 1000 Markets shop.

New Triple Branch Cherry Blossom Cuff
I have had many request to make a bracelet in the first photo. I have finally created the "Triple Branch Cuff". In creating this cuff, I wanted to keep the multiple cherry blossom look as well as the sturdy integrity of the bracelet. I also wanted to create a gorgeous piece of wearable art that was affordable for anyone. In order to do that I have made one of the branches from 12g wire and the other two branches from 14g wire.

What's New in March?
February was a spectacular month! My Hearts were a hit with Etsy shoppers and I am pleased to say they were all one of a kind pieces that went to wonderful people!!!
What's in store for March?
I am getting ready to do a Cherry Blossom festival that will be held on April 10-11 in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles. I don't do many fairs or festivals due to my 2 year old. However, I felt compelled to participate in the Cherry Blossom Festival seeing that I make so many Cherry Blossoms!! I think it will be fun and great exposure for my Jewelry. I guess I should get started on stocking up my inventory!
I will also be adding "My Favorite Friday Finds" to my blog. I have been a little busy lately but will try to search through Etsy, 1000 Markets, Artfire and Zibbet for those one of a kind finds.

Custom Orders and more!
I have been quite busy lately! Which is definitely a good thing!! I have been working on these large 15" tall feeders for a customer in the Virgin Islands. I never thought I would do such tall Surfboard Feeders. After modifying my design to accommodate 3qt. bowls and increasing the height to 15", they are actually quite nice looking and functional!
Seeing that the customer lives in such warm and tropical environment, she request these colors.
I may just have to add this design to my shops!
This Large Red Cherry Blossom ring was a hit last year! I stopped making it because of the irregular heat patina results. I am a bit, just a bit of a perfectionist and I would re-do the heat patina until I had it just perfect. Well, heat patinas are not perfect and neither am I. However, this ring looks amazing in any shade of red and so I am adding it to my shops once again.

100th Sale Giveaway!
I couldn't be more happier with the start of February!
I recently opened a shop on Zibbet! I thought I would give them a try since their basic membership is free why not give it chance. They do have a performance stat page, so I'll keep everyone posted about the views coming in. Maybe you would like to give it a try!
I also just signed up for Mycraftcorner. It's a great place to network with other sellers and get advice on their experiences with other selling platforms. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter and you are sure to gain more fans and followers.
Now for the 100th Sale Giveaway!
I am closing in on my 100th sale in my Etsy Shop! Yeah! So I just decided I would give a gift with the 100th sale! I think I will keep it a surprise but it may either be a choice between a Cherry Blossom keychain or a Heart pendant ( the heart is in the design process but well worth the wait). I will let the buyer choose!
